The Department of Homeland Security's mission is to "help prevent, protect against, and respond to acts of terrorism on United States soil."
Functions:
1. To prevent and disrupt terrorist attacks.
2. To protect the American people, our critical infrastructure, and key resources.
3. To respond to and recover from incidents that do occur.
